Known as the Shield of the Emperor, Constantin Valdor was the first Captain-General of the Legio Custodes and led them through a golden age as the Emperor's Great Crusades marched throughout the galaxy. Steadfast, loyal and fiercely intelligent, Constantin would vanish after the conclusion of the Horus Heresy and the mortal wounding of the Emperor at the hands of Horus. Whether he died or still serves in the Emperor's name is subject to rumor but his legacy of service has served as the template for every Captain-General who follows in his footsteps.
