To ensure there are still bodies to thrown on the siege, Apothecaries perform battlefield surgeries using their highly trained skills and whatever tools they have at their disposal. "First, do no harm" does not seem to apply to these medical warriors; they will use a scalpel to heal just as much as to kill to protect their Brothers.
